Tandem biking

Sunday night we went on a bike ride. They have this road by the river that they close off during the night and only bike riders and walkers can go on it. It was so nice! Me and Amanda got a tandom bike because I have never ride on one before.

Random people by the river!
Chillen by the river

Just our little adventure.

We took motor taxis too

Today is Monday and like usual we had to start teaching again. I was teaching our second graders basic reading (pretty much just having them color pages with the alphabet) in the middle of my lesson my chair broke. We are just on little plastic stools so it's kind of a normal occurrence. That was already the third chair I broke. I fell to the ground and landed on my back side. I was holding my laptop and I'm so thankful it didn't break. I just laid there for a little while laughing my head off. One of the kids, Chris, hurry and came over and helped me up. Jokingly I told the kids, "don't tell anyone that I fell!" Five minutes passed and I went to check the time on my phone that was in my back pocket. As I looked at the time this is what I saw
My phone was completely shattered. Tears automatically started flooding down my face. This was my only communication to home and it was destroyed. This was my only way of taking pictures we are leaving for a vacation tomorrow. In the middle of teaching I just say and cried. The kids were sweet little angels. Chris told me "teacha, be happy!" Another kid went and got me tissues. They were so worried about and truly cared. It melted my heart to see them helping me. I gave all of them a tootsie roll because they all behaved so well in class and right before the kids left Chris opened his and made me eat it. It was the sweetest thing ever. These kids are such angels and just live them so much. Chris came back later to make sure I was alright. Many kids stopped me in the hall to make sure I was alright too. My coordinator Kelly called her husband and he immediately came and picked up my phone to get it fixed. It was only 58 American dollars. What a blessing it is to be surrounded by the people I am surrounded by. They take such great care I me! I'm very thankful!
